Questions

Air Conditioning Questions Reynella Asks Most

We have pulled together the dozen questions that come up on the phone week after week. The answers are short and honest, and if a job turns out to be more complicated onsite, you hear it from us before we touch a tool.

How much will my air conditioning job cost?

You get a fixed quote before any work starts, so the figure on paper is the figure you pay. No hourly rates and no bill shock, on a repair or a full install.

Do you offer finance on bigger jobs?

Yes. Interest-free finance through Humm is available for larger jobs, which spreads the cost of a ducted system or a replacement across payments instead of one hit.

Do you offer a 10% pensioner discount or $50 off first service?

Both. New customers get $50 off first service, and pensioner households receive a 10% pensioner discount. Mention either when you book and we apply it to the quote.

Availability and Emergency Call-Outs

Are you available after hours and on weekends?

We hold 24/7 emergency availability, and urgent issues get a Within-the-Hour Response where availability allows. A dead system on a 40-degree day counts as urgent in our book.

My air conditioner is leaking water. What should I do?

Water outside can usually wait a day. Water coming through a ceiling near the Field River valley's older streets needs a same-day call, because damage compounds fast.

If the fault is more than a drip, our repairs page covers the common causes, from blocked drains to error codes on the controller.

Licensing

Is refrigerant work actually licensed?

It is. Refrigerant handling sits under our full ARC refrigeration and air conditioning licence, number L162586, which covers installation, servicing, decommissioning and leak work.

Are you insured?

Yes, we carry full insurance for the work we do. Combined with our Lifetime Labour Warranty, if a fault traces back to workmanship, we return and fix it at no cost.

Choosing a Cooling or Heating System

Split system or ducted, which suits my house?

Most single-storey brick veneer homes here have the roof space for ducted, and zoning keeps running costs down. For one living area, a split system is usually the smarter spend.

Does evaporative cooling work in Adelaide?

Very well. Our summers are hot and dry, which is exactly what evaporative units are built for. It needs windows or vents open, and it cools only, never heats.

What can I heat my home with in winter?

Reverse cycle systems heat as well as cool, and ducted gas heating is a genuine option for cold southern winters. We talk through running costs for your house before quoting.

Can you service an older system in a 1970s home?

Yes. Much of the suburb's brick veneer stock went up through the 1970s and 1980s, and we repair, service and honestly assess ageing units for repair versus replacement.

How often should my system be cleaned?

Once every twelve months suits most systems, ideally in spring before the first heat runs. Evaporative units also need pads, water feed and bleed-off checked before summer.
